The Kerala unit of BJP on Monday said the party was ready for an alliance with regional Christian party, Kerala Congress (M).
Last week, KC (M) chairman K M Mani had quit as state finance minister after the Kerala High Court ratified the decision to go for further probe against Mani in bar bribery case.
BJP state president, V Muraleedharan, told media in Kozhikode that although Mani is corrupt, the BJP doesn’t consider Kerala Congress (M) as party that should be kept away.
He said BJP is ready for alliance with any party except Congress, CPM and Indian Union Muslim League. Party is looking for alliance at three-tier local bodies.
What makes BJP to send overtures to the Christian party is that its leader Mani is close the present leaderships of Hindu outfits Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana Yogam and Nair Service Society. Leaders of both Hindu outfits had supported Mani in bar case.
