Bhubaneswar hospital fire: PM Narendra Modi asks Health Minister to transfer injured to AIIMS

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his concerned on Bhubaneswar hospital fire tragedy and asked Ministers to cater the injured and affected.

In a fire that started due to short circuit at Institute of Medical Sciences and Sum Hospital in Bhubaneswar, Odisha at least 19 are reportedly dead. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his concerned over twitter on the fire tragedy and asked Health Minister JP Nadda to facilitate transfer of all those injured to AIIMS hospital. He also spoke to Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Dharmendra Pradhan to ensure all possible help to the injured and affected.

According to reports, at least 40 more persons are admitted in different hospitals are stated to be critical and fighting for their life in different hospitals in the city.

“Deeply anguished by the loss of lives in the hospital fire in Odisha. The tragedy is mind-numbing. My thoughts are with bereaved families.” Prime Minister tweeted.  “Spoke to Minister @JPNadda & asked him to facilitate transfer of all those injured to AIIMS. Hope the injured recover quickly. Also spoken to Minister @dpradhanbjp and asked him to ensure all possible help to the injured and affected.” PM said in a series of Tweet.

Petrol Minister Dharmendra Pradhan also tweeted saying that AIIMS has been advised to care for the victims, “It is important that all hospitals in Bhubaneswar-Cuttack rise to the occasion & care the victims; AIIMS, Bhubaneswar has been advised on this.”

“I have spoken to Director, AIIMS Bhubaneswar to provide all necessary support and help the patients in the best way possible.” Health Minister, JP Nadda informed over Twitter.

Prime Minister also assured all possible support from the Centre to Chief Minister of Odisha, Naveen Patnaik, “Spoke to CM @Naveen_Odisha about the distressing hospital fire tragedy. Assured all possible support from the Centre.”

Patnaik visited the Capital Hospital to take the view of the situation announcing free treatment to the patients and a probe into the fire. “Spoke with PM @narendramodi, briefed about efforts towards treatment of injured. Senior Ministers, officials monitoring.” he tweeted.
