He may have remained quiet Friday, the only day he attended the Legislative Assembly’s monsoon session, but Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal launched a high-pitched attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung, while speaking at an event in Kirari Saturday.
He said, “We passed an order saying power companies will pay compensation to people if there are unscheduled power cuts lasting more than two hours… Modiji is threatening to increase power tariffs in Delhi. I am challenging you, Modiji. If you increase the power tariff, the people of Delhi will teach you a lesson. Don’t you dare increase power tariffs…”
He also urged the audience to call their friends and relatives in other states and tell them how the Centre was “interfering” in matters of the Delhi government.
Kejriwal added, “ Never in the history of this country has any government been so vindictive after its defeat. Stop your dirty activities. If you don’t mend your ways, the people of Delhi will go all over the country and ensure you are defeated in 2019 too.”
The Chief Minister claimed that Modi had “called up Jung and asked him to transfer PWD officials”, who were building schools and flyovers.
He also lashed out at the Prime Minister and Lt Governor in a series of tweets, accusing them of trying to derail the AAP government, transferring officials who were building schools and flyovers in the capital and plotting to get Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chairperson Swati Maliwal arrested
“Guys. Can u name 1 positive thing that Modiji or his LG did for Delhi so far? Only created hurdles. Negative people,” Kejriwal tweeted Saturday morning.
In one of his tweets, Kejriwal cited a report in The Indian Express — ‘Maintained least interference in AAP government’s work, says Jung’ — saying, “If this is “least interference”, then what is “high interference”. Shameful subversion of democracy to protect chair.”
On the Comptroller and Auditor General’s (CAG’s) audit report on the AAP government’s Directorate of Information and Publicity, Kejriwal tweeted, “CAG vehemently refuses to audit ad expenses of Centre and other states. Why? CAG under pressure from BJP?”
“Essence of Indian democracy so far. Thats why both parties (BJP and Congress) are jointly opposing AAP everywhere tooth n nail,” he said in another tweet.
Kejriwal alleged that there are “numerous decisions of AAP govt of public importance” which the Prime Minister “wanted to reverse.” He tweeted, “AAP govt asked for land for 10 hospitals from DDA. Modi’s LG refused. Was our demand illegal?”, “Increase min wages in Delhi. Is it illegal? Sources: Big cos met Modiji n opposed it. Now LG sitting on that file.”
In another tweet, he said, “Sources-LG n PMO hell bent on removing Swati Maliwal 4 doing gud job. She’ll be arrested coming week n then removed.”
