Agra: Web portal booked for ‘fake news’ on RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat

The Agra Police Monday filed an FIR against the owners of a web portal from Jhansi for allegedly publishing fake news against RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat. The FIR, lodged on the basis of a complaint by RSS worker Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, charged the reporter and owner of the web portal under IPC, said Raja Singh, inspector Hariparwat police station. The portal said that during RSS’s Kutumb Prabodhan event in Agra, Bhagwat had said women are meant to do ‘chauka-bartan’ (household tasks) and those who don’t do that should be divorced. Alleging the story to be highly distorted and fake, RSS approached Hariparwat police, which after initial investigation filed the FIR.
