THE Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday opposed the anticipatory bail plea of the parents of the accused, Ravneet Garg. The agency submitted before a special CBI court, Haryana, that both the accused were facing serious charges and should be sent to judicial custody.

On July 17, 2013, Geetanjali (30), a resident of Sector 8, Panchkula, was found shot dead at the Police Lines parade ground in Gurgaon. Ravneet Garg was posted as Chief Judicial Magistrate, Gurgaon at the time. CBI had arrested Ravneet Garg on September 8 this year on charges of dowry death (Section 304B of Indian Penal Code).
