The pass percentage in the the CBSE Class XII exams has increased this year in city-based schools,with students from Humanities scoring more than those in other streams.
However,according to the CBSE Board,this year the pass percentage of West Bengal (83.72) has dipped from the 2011 record of 84.48 per cent.
Despite the dip in the overall percentage,many school authorities said their students have fared better than last year.
Principal of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Anindita Chatterjee said students of Humanities had scored better than Science and Commerce students.

A total of 276 students have scored first division marks,with 115 students of them scoring above 90 per cent.
Securing 97.6 per cent in Humanities,Konina Mondal of Sushila Birla High is the city topper. She has expressed her desire to study law in Kolkata.
Second topper Sreya Mullick Dutta of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan,who secured 97 per cent,wants to study English (Hons) from Jadavpur University,Presidency University or St Xaviers.
I want to study print journalism,or become a teacher at a reputed college, she said.
Bharatiya Vidya Bhavans Indulekha Guha,who secured 96.8 per cent in Humanities,has stood third in city. Shehas expressed her desire to study law at National University of Juridical Science (NUJS) in Kolkata.
