Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray on Thursday said his party had not softened its stance on demonetisation, but it would spell out its stand after the end of the 50-day period the Prime Minister had sought.
Speaking to the media, Thackeray said in response to a question: “I had neither opposed nor welcomed the move (for demonetisation of high-value currency notes). I had only maintained that common people should not be inconvenienced. Thirty days have passed, but there is no sign that the problems have decreased. Rather, problems are on the rise every day.”

When asked which way the Sena would go if a discussion in Parliament on demonetisation is followed by a vote, he said, “Hum janata ka saath de rahe hain (We are siding with the people).”
Regarding the outburst of L K Advani over the working of Parliament, Thackeray said, “He is a veteran leader, what he says should be taken seriously.”
