CBI books top tax official for graft

A case has been registered against an IRS officer. It is alleged that he has amassed disproportionate assets.

The CBI has registered a case of corruption against the Commissioner of Income Tax (Appeals) posted in New Delhi. The agency also conducted searches at premises linked to the official in various cities.  “A case has been registered against an IRS officer. It is alleged that he has amassed disproportionate assets. CBI teams have carried out searches at 12 locations,” CBI spokesperson R K Gaur said.
