Bollywood actor Aamir Khan has said he is ready to work in the regional films if he finds the right script, while expressing his desire to work with top south Indian stars. He was addressing a press meet on Sunday in Hyderabad, where he was accompanied by the director and the co-star of his upcoming film Dangal.
“I have always been a big fan of Chiranjeevi and Pawan Kalyan in Telugu. So I would love to act with them, if it is a Tamil film I would love to work with Rajinikanth, he is someone I have been a huge fan of all along, so if I get a chance to work with him I would love that,” he said responding to a question at the press meet.

The Tamil and Telugu dubbed versions of the film will also be released simultaneously along with its original Hindi version. But Aamir said that he is yet to watch the dubbed version. “I was busy in post-production of the Hindi version also. But I have seen a few scenes of Tamil and Telugu versions. I quite liked watching myself speak Tamil and Telugu. It is really nice. I wish I could have done a film in the original language itself, but it will be difficult for me to learn entirely a new language. But if that happens, I would love it,” he said when he was asked whether he was ready to work in the Telugu industry.
Ahead of the release, Aamir along with his team has been promoting his forthcoming film Dangal across the country. On Sunday, he attended the press meet along with his director Nitesh Tiwari and his co-star Fatima Sana Shaikh, who is playing one of the daughters of Aamir’s character in the film. The PK actor said his another onscreen daughter Sanya Malhotra was not able to make it to the press meet as she was unwell.
For Dangal, Aamir had to gain a lot of weight and loss again in a short period of time to play wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat. He said it was really tough part of doing this movie and his fab-to-flab and flab-to-fit transformation had his family worried about his health. “My wife Kiran and my mother were worried about my health. But, I lovingly convinced them,” he said.

Aamir said during his last film PK, his body fat was about 9 percent and he was ready to begin shooting for Dangal as the younger version of Phogat and even his director suggested it. “If I had finished the young part first and gained weight to play the elder part after finishing the movie, I would not have any reason to lose the weight. I decided first to gain and then lose, so I can end where I started,” he said.
Aamir also said that the filmmakers have applied for tax exemption in all the states, which in turn will reduce ticket prices and more people can watch the film. The film has got tax exemption in Uttar Pradesh. Dangal will hit screens worldwide on Friday.
