Bollywood actress Vidya Balan will be seen playing the role of yesteryear actress Geeta Bali in her debut Marathi movie ‘Ek Albela’ and the makers of the movie are leaving no stone unturned to give the period film an authentic look.
The biopic to be produced by Monish Babre and directed by Shekhar Sartandel is a tribute to the legendary actor Bhagwan dada for his contribution to the Hindi film industry. Since the movie will be exploring the era from 1930 to 1951 of Mumbai the makers want every part of the set to look real.
And for that the makers have got ace art director Baban Adagale, who has worked on successful projects like ‘Ram Leela, Raanjhanaa, Dabangg’ and ‘Rowdy Rathore’ among others, to create a magnificent set for Ek Albela. Ek Albela set will showcase Bombay of the pre and post independence era.
The makers have spent almost Rs 1 crore on the sets, considered as the first ever for a Marathi movie. A source says, “Producer Dr Monish Babre does not comprise on any quality look and feel of the film.”
