Anushka Shetty gained 20 kilos for the role of an overweight named Sweety in ‘Size Zero’. The actress believes it’s important that you love and respect your body, understand what it needs and accordingly give everything in appropriate proportion.
Emphasizing on the film’s story and the message it delivers, Anushka had earlier said: “It’s a story that will instantly connect with a majority of Indian women who are always insecure about how they look. It will guide them in the right direction”.
“This story, the way it’s written and presented, has something for everybody. Arya’s interesting role will make men understand how important their contribution is in the lives of their partners. Men also deal with weight issues and this film can equally inspire them,” she said.
Anushka, whose last releases ‘Baahubali’ and ‘Rudhramadevi’ turned out to be hits, hopes the success continues with ‘Size Zero’ as well.
“I just hope the success continues with ‘Size Zero’ as well. It’s a wonderful film and for all the hard work we’ve put in, we really want it to do well. Most importantly, we hope it changes the lives of people with weight issues,” she said.
Actress Sonal Chauhan, who is also seen in ‘Size Zero’ playing an important role, earlier said that the weight issue is addressed with so much sensitivity that it will instantly connect with the audience.
“The beauty of the film lies in the way it addresses a major issue with so much sensitivity. It presents everything in such a lighter vein that it will instantly connect with the audience,” Sonal said.
Sonal Chauhan, who plays a very fit, good-looking and glamorous NRI says her role is portrayed in a very positive light.
“Although I play a very fit, good-looking and glamorous NRI who comes to India to work on a project with an NGO, I’m portrayed in a very positive light but not as someone sans the traditional values,” she said.
Directed by Prakash Kovelamudi, the film also stars Arya and Adivi Sesh, besides cameos by a bevy of stars such as Akkineni Nagarjuna, Rana Daggubati, Simhaa, Jiiva, Kajal Aggarwal, Tamannaah Bhatia, Hansika Motwani and Revathy.
