They are the most happening Bollywood couple on the scene currently. Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone may not publicly admit to their romance, but maybe they don’t need to. The lovebirds are always seen supporting each other, attending one another’s film screenings and have the nicest things to say about the other.

This time, Ranveer Singh has come out in praise of his co-star, friend and girlfriend Deepika’s courageous move – speaking on national television about her depression.

In an interview with Hindustan Times, the actor says that “Deepika has won him over for life”, with her bravery. “I was in tears when I watched her talking about it (her depression) on a TV chat show. It takes a lot of mental and emotional fortitude to come out with something that has such a large (social) stigma attached to it. Deepika has won me over for life with the kind of strength and courage she has. It’s incredible,” says Ranveer Singh, who will be seen opposite Deepika in ‘Bajirao Mastani’.

The actor also expressed his displeasure about reports suggesting that Deepika spoke out about her depression as Ranveer was also suffering from the same.

“I was truly angered with the article; and I still haven’t gotten over it. In fact, I am so angry that it would take a big effort on my part to not physically assault the person who wrote it, if I ever come across him,” says the actor. Ranveer had vented about the article on his Facebook post a few months ago.

Ranveer Singh will soon be seen onscreen in Zoya Akhtar’s family drama, ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’.
