Actor Kunal Kapoor doesn’t want to be drawn into the chatter surrounding the political call for banning Pakistani actors. The actor, on his part, believes it’s best not to comment at all since every word spoken gets magnified without any reason.
When asked for his take on cross-border cultural exchange and if it should continue in the wake of the recent terror attacks, Kunal told Indian Express.com, “I will not like to say anything because anything that anyone says gets distorted, sensationalised, gets taken out-of-context. So I believe it’s best not to say anything about it right now.”
Bollywood as a whole still remains divided on the issue of Pakistani actors. While few have opined that actors from across the border should issue strong statements condemning terrorist attacks, others have vociferously protested against the ban. Radhika Apte recently expressed that banning Pakistani actors is not the solution. “Pakistani actors should also be allowed to come here and do films in India. I don’t think they should be banned,” the actress opined.
In reality, majority of Bollywood continues to support Pakistani artists, throwing their weight behind them and demanding to know how slapping of a ban would stop terrorism. After Karan Johar, Salman Khan too spoke out in favour of Pakistani artistes, delinking them from terrorism and terrorists. “They come here on valid visas given by our government. They are artistes not terrorists,” said Khan
Kunal was spotted at Maheka Mirpuri’s fundraiser fashion show where he walked the ramp as the showstopper. Talking about the secret behind looking handsome at every fashion do, Kunal said, “I think I am blessed with good genes. I take care to groom myself well before stepping out. Apart from that I don’t really do anything special.”
On the work front, Kunal is awaiting the release of his film, Dear Zindagi. The movie has SRK in a headlining roles but sadly Kunal doesn’t share any screen space with the superstar in the film. Ruing the same, Kunal told us, “It’s unfortunate we don’t have any scenes together. The last time we worked together was in Don 2 and it was an incredible experience. He is a great person to work with. I hope I get a chance to work with him soon.”
