Filmmaker Anurag Basu, who is coming up with his next directorial Jagga Jasoos, says the film is ideal for children.
“When screening of ‘Barfi’ was going on, everybody was happy. And when the trial was going on, I thought everybody would like the movie. But my younger daughter didn’t understand the movie and she was not very impressed. I was upset. So I thought of making a film for children and now Jagga is for children,” he said at the press meet of kids dance reality show Dance Ka Kal-Super Dancer.
He is one of the judges in the show along with Shilpa Shetty and Geeta Kapoor.
About judging the show, Basu said: “I am more of a viewer than a judge. I give my opinion as a viewer. For technical portions, I take help from Geeta (Kapoor). Otherwise, I go with my feeling. Dance is an emotion. If dancer feels the dance I also feel it as a viewer.”
Known for his direction in movies like Life in a… Metro, Kites, Gangster and Murder. His last directorial Barfi, featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, and Ileana D Cruz, opened to largely positive reviews and was well received in many film festivals.
Jagga Jasoos is a comedy-drama film which features Ranbir, Katrina Kaif and Adah Sharma in lead roles. The film tells the story of a teenage detective in search of his missing father.
Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif-starrer Jagga Jasoos will release on April 7 next year, Directed by Barfi helmer Anurag Basu, the film had been in the making for a while. The director, however, said the movie has been delayed by merely six months.
Jagga Jasoos is the debut venture of Ranbir and Anurag’s production house, Picture Shuru Productions. It has also been co-produced by Disney. “Jagga Jasoos will release exactly a year after the Studio’s hugely successful The Jungle Book (Disney’s The Jungle Book released on April 8th, 2016) and Jagga Jasoos promises to be the Disney summer spectacle for 2017!,” Disney said in a statement.
Earlier Actor Ranbir Kapoor said he is himself awaiting the release of Jagga Jasoos, in which he stars opposite his former girlfriend Katrina Kaif. The two actors had completed shooting the film despite their breakup.
