Anupam Kher to enact monologue at literature festival in Delhi

Veteran actor-filmmaker Anupam Kher, who runs his own acting school, will perform his popular monologue Kuchhh Bhi Ho Sakta Hai at Sahitya Aaj Tak literature festival here on Sunday.

Anupam says he has attended literature festivals as an author and has held one-on-one sessions where he has spoken and discussed books and related topics, but this would be the first time that he will perform at a literature festival and that makes the upcoming event special for him.

“This is the first time I think that a literature festival has a performance. It’s an autobiography on stage. Around 13 years ago, someone had asked me to write my autobiography. So I had recorded seven to eight hours of my life. When I heard them, I thought to myself that I should perform,” Anupam told IANS.

Titled “Kuchh Bhi Ho Sakta Hai”, a philosophy Anupam thoroughly believes in, the play will be one hour 15 minutes long. The actor has staged the play earlier as well in the capital.

The literature festival, which will be held on November 12-13 at the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts, will also have eminent personalities like Javed Akhtar, Ashutosh Rana, Prasoon Joshi, Ashok Vajpeyi, Piyush Mishra, Anurag Kashyap and Devdutt Pattanaik.

It has been a good professional year for Anupam, who got unanimous praise from critics and fans for his performance in MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, and brought out his maiden TV production Khwaabon Ki Zamin Par a couple of months ago.
