UPSC topper Tina Dabi: Want to work for women and student-related issues

Tina Dabi, the UPSC examination topper 2015, returned to her alma mater, Delhi University’s Lady Shri Ram College, to share her incredibly successful story. Addressing students at a jam packed auditorium, she said she wanted to work for the society, especially for women and students. She attributed her achievement to the Lady Shri ram College where she studied political science.

Twenty two-year-old Dabi on Thursday was invited to her college to interact with students and share her success story. “Your institution has a important role in shaping who you are. LSR is the real reason why I am standing here today,” said Dabi who has got Rajasthan cadre.

Dabi was felicitated by college principal Suman Sharma. In her speech, Dabi told students that the college has given her progressive values and a sense of empowerment and liberation. “LSR teaches you to have a compassionate heart and turns you into a leader. So cease the moment and cease the opportunity and become what you want to be in life,” said Dabi.

The topper said that she wanted to work for women-related issues. “I would like to work for women and student-related issues. I also want to set an example of integrity for my subordinates,” said Dabi.

Suman Sharma said that Tina has a strong sense of responsibility and the LSR community looks at her as a catalyst of social change. “Only courageous person can change the khap panchayats from a feudal entity to agents of social change,” said Sharma.

Tina Dabi has been allotted Rajasthan cadre, along with Athar Amir ul Shafi Khan and Jasmeet Singh Sandhu, who ranked second and third in the civil services exam, respectively.


Dabi and others will now undergo training at The Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), Mussoorie, before joining their allotted cadres.
