The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) standing committee on Tuesday postponed a decision pertaining to appointment of two agencies for implementing the GIS mapping of all properties, including those that are lying unassessed for years.
“We have sought more details on the proposal. The agency needs to make a presentation on its implementation as its going to have a direct impact on all residents,” said Balasaheb Bodke, chairperson of standing committee.

Meanwhile, the civic administration amnesty scheme for unassessed properties has received a poor response with not many residents coming forward to get their properties assessed that are not recorded in civic books. The PMC has declared that the GIS mapping is expected to be completed within nine months and the agencies will be paid on identifying the number of unassessed properties.
