Pune: Screening camp for prostate disorders

A screening camp for prostate disorders was held at the Command Hospital, Southern Command, Pune on Sunday.

A screening camp for prostate disorders was held at the Command Hospital, Southern Command, Pune on Sunday. The camp was organised by the Command Hospital and supported by Care India Medical Society, Bhavani Peth, Pune.

The camp received good response with nearly 300 senior citizens attending it. It was inaugurated by Major General Deepak Kalra of HQ Southern Command. The screening was done by a team of doctors led by urologist Col S Tripathy, along with Lt Col Amit Agarwal and Lt Col Deepak Kumar, and a team of surgeons.

The screening process included checking the patient’s history and clinical examination, apart from ultra-sonography by a team of radiologists under Col Muralidharan. The patients were also advised regarding further management of prostatic complaints. An audiovisual presentation on prostatic disorders was screened to spread awareness on prostate disorders.
