
PUNE Police’s Anti-Human Trafficking Wing has busted a sex racket and arrested one person who operated the illegal business using free classified portal Locanto.
Police have also rescued two girls who were being forced into prostitution by five suspects of which four are still absconding. The arrested suspect has been identified as Deepak Hira Varali (19) resident of Rahul Nagar, Nigdi. According to police, after learning that Varali ran the racket by posting advertisements on the online portal following which the customers approached him through mobile phone, policemen posed as customers and arrested him on the road outside Sardar Dastoor School in Pune Camp area.

The arrest took place on Saturday evening.

“The arrested accused and his four other accomplices ran this business and kept half of the money made by them from customers. We have got details of the four other suspects and will soon nab them,” said Senior Police Inspector M M Mujawar said.
