Male voter turnout more as women stay indoors

There was 55 per cent voting in six panels in Hadapsar area where,barring a few minor incidents,voting was peaceful.

There was 55 per cent voting in six panels in Hadapsar area where,barring a few minor incidents,voting was peaceful. The number of female voters remained less as compared to male voters.

As per figures obtained from the officials there was 50.63 per cent voting in panel 20,54.64 per cent in panel 42,55.67 per cent in panel 43,60.57 per cent in panel 44,57.11 per cent in panel 45 and 49.53 per cent in panel 46.

For the first time,voting centres were set up in the plush Magarpatta city. Till 11.30 am,there was about 30 per cent voting at this centre. “The atmosphere and arrangements here are better,” said voter Alka Zende.

Excitement was observed,specially among the youth voters,at the polling booths in Kubera Sankul and Sadhana society.

In all the six panels,the number of male voters exceeded the female voters. In panel 20,the number of male voters was 9,237 and that of females was 8,310. In panel 42,the number of male voters was 9,540 and that of females was 8,277. In panel 43,as many as 9,017 male voters turned up to cast their vote as compared to 7,300 females. In panel 44,the number of male voters was 12,640 and that of females was 10,324.

In panel 45,the number of male voters was 13,873 and that of females was 11,886. In panel 46,the number of male voters was 9,089 and that of females was 7,766. An incident of brawl between political workers and police was reported from Sasane Nagar areas.
