Dinesh Waghmare takes over as PCMC commissioner, Daulat Desai CEO ZP

Jadhav especially concentrated on the cleanliness drive under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.

Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Commissioner Rajeev Jadhav has been transferred to Nashik as Tribal Development Commissioner, while Dinesh Waghmare will be the new PCMC Commissioner. He is a 1994 IAS officer and has held the post of Navi Mumbai Muncipal Corporation commissioner.

Jadhav has taken over from Shrikar Pardeshi whose tenure had created a storm of sorts in Pimpri Chinchwad, especially because of his drive against illegal structures. Jadhav especially concentrated on the cleanliness drive under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.

Maruti Bhapkar of the Swaraj Abhiyan said Jadhav’s tenure would stand out because of the sensitivity he showed towards the agitators. He was the only commissioner who showed respect to agitators by visiting and interacting with them, said Bhapkar.

In another major bureaucratic reshuffle, city Pune Zilla Parishad CEO Kantilal Umap has been transferred as Commissioner, Nanded, while Daulat Desai has been annouced as the new CEO for Pune. For Pune, the other transfer orders include Lahu Mali for Slum Rehabilitation Authority, Sonali Vayangankar as Deputy Director General of YASHADA, Pune, and Deepa Mudhol as project director of Maharashtra Agriculture Competitiveness Project.
