After facing the huge potholes during monsoon, Mumbaikars would have to brace for more traffic jams mostly in the western suburbs as the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) plans to speed up the work of two Metro projects — 2A and 7.
An MMRDA official said the work for both the corridors has commenced from August 2016, and about two-three traffic lanes would be barricaded now for the construction activity.

In order to reduce inconvenience to the commuters, the reversible traffic lane on Western Express Highway from Shivaji Statue near airport to Dahisar in peak hours should be used, the official said.
Also, the service road would be made available for vehicular traffic by clearing on-street parking and other hindrance on it. Besides, additional AC buses from Bandra-Andheri to Dahisar and around 500 traffic wardens will be available to ease the traffic congestion on the route.
The MMRDA has appealed people to use the car-pool, reversible lane among others.
