The Bombay High Court on Friday rejected an application seeking recall of an order of the court, where it had observed that women cannot be prohibited from entering places of worship that allow unhindered access to men.
The court had earlier reserved its order on maintainability of several intervention applications filed seeking recall of the order passed in relation to the Shani Shingnapur temple.
On Friday, it rejected the intervention application filed by Sunita Patil seeking to recall the HC order passed on April 1, allowing women entry into temples where they were barred from doing so earlier.
The court observed that the applicant, who is a social worker, had no locus in the matter. The decision on the other applications will be given later.
