A special Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) court on Saturday rejected Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur’s application requesting permission to travel to Bhopal by air or in an air-conditioned train coach for her scheduled appearance in a court there.

Thakur,a prime accused in the 2008 Malegaon blasts case,is also facing trial in Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh activist Sunil Joshi’s murder.

Citing health reasons,Thakur had moved an application seeking the court’s directions to the jail authorities to make arrangements for her travel from Mumbai to Bhopal “either by second AC or first class by railway or air”.

However, special judge Yatin D Shinde observed that the jail authorities will have to follow a jail manual and cannot take an accused by air or travel in an AC train coach and rejected the application. “We will approach the Bombay High Court against the order,” said her lawyer Rameshwar Gite.
