Mumbai vada-pav seller donates a day’s earnigs for drought-hit farmers

Ahiwale had taken a decision to donate a day’s earning towards the CM’s Relief Fund, and to ensure that he could mobilise maximum funds in a day, he reduced the rate of his vada-pav from Rs 5 to Rs 2.

A vada-pav seller in Mumbai, Mangesh Ahiwale, came forward to lend a helping hand to farmers in drought-hit Marathwada and Vidarbha regions. On Wednesday, he donated Rs 20,000 to Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for the purpose.

Ahiwale had taken a decision to donate a day’s earning towards the CM’s Relief Fund, and to ensure that he could mobilise maximum funds in a day, he reduced the rate of his vada-pav from Rs 5 to Rs 2. By midnight, he had managed to collect Rs 20,000. Touched by Ahiwale’s gesture, Fadnavis said, “I appreciate his sensitivity towards society and hardships faced by farmers. I am really touched by his effort and kindness.” The chief minister had earlier appealed people to come forward and lend a helping hand for drought relief in the state.
