THE JUHU police detained a 15-year-old boy Monday under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act following a complaint filed against him by a 16-year-old student of the same school. The FIR was registered following a doctor’s report indicating sexual assault.
In a statement, the police said, “We received a call from a hospital that a minor girl was admitted as she had conceived due to intercourse with a minor…” The police said the boy was booked after they recorded the statement of the girl.

The statement added, “In the month of August 2016 the delinquent kissed and inappropriately touched victim in the ladies bathroom of the school.” It said the boy called her again and had “sexual intercourse with her and thereafter continued to do so with the victim under threats of revealing their relationship to school friends”.
According to the statement, the girl then confided in her mother who took her to hospital.
The police said the boy had been sent to the Children Welfare Committee (CWC). “We will be recording the statements of those present in the school to get some clarity about the incident,” said an officer.
