Residents come forward to help NGO that cremates unclaimed bodies

After Newsline highlighted the work of Manav Kalyan Sansthan,an NGO which cremates unclaimed bodies,several residents have come forward to help the organisation.

After Newsline highlighted the work of Manav Kalyan Sansthan,an NGO which cremates unclaimed bodies,several residents have come forward to help the organisation.

Gurmeet Singh,president of the NGO,said: “Four people have become life members of our NGO after reading the article. They also pledged to make monthly donations to the NGO,to help us take forward this noble cause.”

The good Samaritans include 95-year-old Ved Parkash Vadhera,who lives in a senior citizens’ home,Jagdish Raj Sharma,a retired government employee,K K Sharma,a serviceman,and a doctor from Angad Hospital Pakhowal Road.

“We felt very inspired when these residents called us up and appreciated our work,” added Singh.
