Facing board exam pressure, 18-year-old girl commits suicide

Reportedly, she was under stress due to final exams and was facing problems in studies.

Following the pressure of board examination, an 18-year-old girl committed suicide on Sunday.

Deeksha was a student of class 12 at SVM Convent School. Her body was found hanging from the ceiling fan at her home in Anandpura Mohalla of Basti Jodhewal area.

Reportedly, she was under stress due to final exams and was facing problems in studies.

Surinderpal, father of the deceased, told police that her daughter was under mental stress due to examination. She was the eldest among four siblings.

Surinderpal said that he was washing his car outside while his wife was cooking lunch for the family. Deeksha was in her room preparing for the exams. Around 2.30 pm, his wife went to Deeksha’s room to call her for lunch. She was shocked to see Deeksha’s body hanging from the ceiling fan. The family rushed her to hospital where doctors declared her dead on arrival.

The Basti Jodhewal police filed a case under Section 174 of the CrPC and sent the body to Civil Hospital for a post-mortem.
