CM announces Rs 156-crore grant for developmental plans

Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on Friday addressed public rallies in Khanna,Samrala and Payal on Friday as part of tour in the Malwa region. Badal announced a grant of Rs 156.45 crore to execute various developmental works at these three constituencies. Badal also urged the people to vote for SAD (B)-BJP alliance candidate,Charanjit Singh Atwal,who is contesting the coming Lok Sabha elections from Fatehgarh Sahib (Reserve) constituency.

Badal announced developmental projects worth Rs 36.45 crores for Khanna assembly constituency. Cheques of grant of Rs 4.79 crore for Khanna city and villages were disbursed on the occasion,out of which Rs 3 crores will be spent for Khanna town. Badal announced a grant of Rs 44 crore for the execution of various developments works in the Samrala constituency.

Of this,he disbursed cheques worth Rs 5.76 crore for the development works in urban and rural areas of the constituency. Badal also announced that a sum of Rs 7 crore would be spent on the construction of a bye-pass at Samrala,besides a grant of Rs 10 lakh for the sports stadium and up-gradation of the local ITI Polytechnic College.

Badal announced that Payal would be developed as model constituency and in this regard,an integrated developmental plan of this constituency would be prepared on the pattern of Valtoha.

He also announced a grant of Rs 76 crore for the over-all development this constituency,of which Rs 52 crore would be spent on the road infrastructure. Besides,he also disbursed cheques worth Rs 7.22 crore for the over all development of urban and rural segment within the jurisdiction of Payal constituency. In his address,Lok Sabha Deputy Speaker Charanjit Singh Atwal said that the upbeat mood of the people in the state was an indication that SAD-BJP alliance would register an impressive victory over Congress in the general elections.

Adressing at Khanna,MLA of Khanna Bikramjit Singh Khalsa,CPS,while demanded more funds for the development of the constituency and assured that the SAD- BJP candidate would register an impressive lead from Khanna constituency in the Lok Sabha elections.

Prominent among others who were present on the occasion included MP Sharanjit Singh Dhiollon,District President,SAD Ludhiana Rural,Santa Singh Umedpuri,General Secretary Mahesh Inder Singh Grewal former Minister,BKU President Balbir Singh Rajewal,BJP District President Pawan Kumar,SGPC members and former MLA Kirpal Singh Khirnia,former MLA Inder Iqbal Singh Atwal,Gurpreet Singh Bhatti,Iqbal Singh,President MC Khanna,and Raju Khanna,President SOI,besides senior leaders and party workers of SAD- BJP and members of SGPC.
