* Parents to hold dharna outside KVM tomorrow
* Additional Deputy Commissioner Kuldeep Singh says revised fee requires consent of parents
With the district administration failing to give its report over fee hike by schools in the stipulated time, parents who had earlier postponed their protest have decided to resume their agitation.
Meanwhile, sources revealed that Ludhiana ADC (G) Kuldeep Singh today submitted his report about the fee-hike issue to the DC in the evening. The ADC said,I have submitted my report to DC Vikas Garg. In my report I have mentioned that schools have increased fees from 35 per cent to 40 per cent, which is not in accordance with the CBSE rules. The CBSE rules state that schools can increase the fee only with the consent of parents. We will write to the state government for further action.
Parveen Dang,President,Hindu-Sikh Jagriti Sena, said,The education mafia is still going strong in the city. We will wage a war against these erring schools from April 23. We will hold a dharna at the Kundan Vidya Mandir,Civil Lines branch and City Branch and will distribute pamphlets to enlighten parents how the school is minting money in the name of education. We will appeal to them to boycott the school by not sending their wards to the school on April 23. We will request parents to help us in this struggle by participating in a motorcycle rally, which will start from the Jagraon Bridge on April 23 at 10:30 am.
