The nude body of a middle-aged woman was found stuffed in a suitcase on the Agra-Delhi highway in Mathura district’s Farah area on Friday.
Police have not ruled out the possibility of the woman, in her late 30s, being raped before she was murdered. The body — discovered by some locals — bore marks of serious injuries, but the cause of death could only be ascertained after postmortem report arrives, a police officer said. A photograph of the woman has been circulated to police stations in other districts to trace her identity.

“Locals spotted the unclaimed suitcase lying on the highway near Raipura area. It was a huge locked suitcase,” said Mathura SP (City) Alok Priyardashi.

He added: “Our forensic science team has collected evidence, including her finger prints, on the suitcase and the body. The woman appears to be from an affluent family.”
