Bahujan Samajwadi Party (BSP) chief Mayawati on Tuesday said that her party will not enter into any alliance with any party and will go alone in the next elections in the state.

She was addressing a rally in Nawanshahr to observe her party founder Kanshi Ram’s birth anniversary.

Earlier in the day, AAP’s Arvind Kejriwal had called for awarding the founder Dalit leader with the Bharat Ratna.

Mayawati, at her rally, claimed to be the first to have sought the same and that she had introduced this proposal in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday morning before coming to Punjab.

While taking a dig at her own party leaders in Punjab state, she said that people of Punjab has never fulfilled the dreams of Kanshi Ram, who himself was from Punjab.

“Kanshi Ram was quite farsighted person as he had announced me as the only political ‘heir’. In 2002-03 when there were elections in Punjab and UP, he asked me to look after UP, which is several times bigger than Punjab. He came to Punjab himself to look after assembly elections because he told me that he did not believe the leaders of Punjab and wanted to be present here personally during the elections”.

“And he was right. In UP we got 100 seats in Assembly elections and in Punjab we could not even open an account due to local leaders, who were out on sale here, which was a major set back for him (Kanshi) and after that he could never recovered from his ill health,” said she. “Even on his birthday when I chose to came to his (Kanshi Ram) state instead going to UP just to tell you that “Abhi Bhi Sudharne Ka Mauka Hai”(Still there is a chance of reforming yourself)” and “Aapko Apki Ghalti Ka ehsas Karane aai Hun (Making you realize about your mistakes)” that you have to fulfill his dreams and appeal to you that don’t become “Biknewala” (Salable). “If you stop selling yourself no one can stop you from forming a government here,” said she.

Ruling out any possibility of alliance with any political party, she said, “In UP we do not ally with any political party and we will never do so here too as our fraternity can make its own government,” stressed she.

Taking another dig on her own party leaders, she said “Our old BSP leaders have never tried to include youth in our cadre and now I have decided to include 50 per cent youth in every organizations of the party.

She also raised the issue of reservations and warned the Dalit audience on this issue. She said that BJP has creating the anti-reservation atmosphere in the country and Delhi’s CM Arvind Kejriwal was anti-reservation before his coming into the politics, she saud.

While lashing out on Congress, BJP and Kejriwal, she said that all these parties had always tried to create hindrances in the ways of Dr B R Ambedkar and Kanshi Ram. “You must understand that all these parties are for the dalit voters and they do not respect both Ambedkar and Kanshi Ram, from their hearts at all,” said she.
