Lucknow: Five held for murder in old city

The police on Friday arrested five persons who allegedly murdered a man in Bazarkhala on the orders of gangster Salim, who is lodged in jail in connection with several cases, police said.

Zaid Shakeel, 27, was shot late Sunday night when he was returning home on a motorcycle.

Police said Salim had asked Misbahuddin, Umair, Imran, Yamin and Farhan to kill Zaid, whom he suspected of having a relationship with a woman from his family.

Farhan, who was with Zaid on his motorcycle at the time of his murder, had conspired with the others to get him killed.

Zaid’s father is a businessman and also works as a contractor.
