UTTAR PRADESH cadre IAS officers on Saturday demanded plots or flats either in Lucknow or Noida at “reasonable rates” as well as independent official accommodations for senior officers at the ‘CG City’ coming up in Lucknow. This was decided at the annual general meeting (AGM) of the officers, as part of the ongoing IAS week.

During the meeting, officers said they should get plots or flats either in Lucknow and Noida so that they have a permanent accommodation after retirement. As most officers were getting official accommodation in multi-storeyed apartments due to shortage of government houses, they demanded that at least senior officers should be allotted independent houses by the government during their service at CG City. Multi-storey towers are being developed at CG City for accommodation of IAS officers.
The officers also demanded that the government should complete the process of promotion, if due in current year, before the model code of conduct for Assembly elections is imposed.
The association proposed that officers from 1985 and 1986 batches should be given the same payscale as that of the chief secretary.
