FIR lodged after Subah-e-Banaras posters torn

Subah-e-Banaras is a musical programme that was started on November 24, 2014, at Assi ghat and has been a daily affair.

An FIR against unidentified persons was registered at Bhelupur police station in Varanasi on Wednesday, after posters of musical and cultural programme ‘Subah-e-Banaras’ at Assi ghat on Ganga were found torn. According to the police, the musical programme was held as per schedule but later some persons noticed that a couple of posters had been torn.

The police were subsequently informed. “An FIR for causing mischief has been registered against unidentified persons on a complaint lodged by Sunil Kumar Shukla, one of the organisers. There is no law and order situation. Further investigations in the case are on,” said Inspector Ashutosh Kumar Ojha. Subah-e-Banaras is a musical programme that was started on November 24, 2014, at Assi ghat and has been a daily affair, attracting large number of visitors.
