A letter threatening to kill West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and blow up Howrah Railway station by a member of terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad was received by the Eastern Railways on Monday. In the letter, the JeM member asked the General Manager of the Eastern Railways to arrange Rs 50 crore for him, “failing which lakh of people will be killed in an IED explosion at Howrah Railway station”. He also wrote that if his demand is not me, his “organisation will kill Mamata Banerjee”.
The letter has been allegedly written by some SC Das who claims to be a former employee of Doordarshan. Das wrote that he has given shelter to other members of the Jaish-e-Mohammad in his flats that he had purchased during his tenure at Doordarshan.
