CPM worker killed in Murshidabad

A CPM worker was killed by unidentified miscreants at Mukundapur village in Murshidabad district,police said on Sunday.

A CPM worker was killed by unidentified miscreants at Mukundapur village in Murshidabad district,police said on Sunday.

Abdul Hamid,a member of the local CPM committee,was attacked by the miscreants late on Saturday night while he was returning home after attending a campaign meeting of CPM candidate for Jangipur Lok Sabha constituency,where a bypoll will be held in the next few days.

The miscreants first attacked him with sharp-edged weapons and then shot him dead,sources added.

The CPM has called for a 12-hour bandh in the Nabagram area of Murshidabd district to protest the killing.
