10 Bengal Maoists who surrendered get financial packages

The surrender package, said SP Bharati Ghosh, includes Rs 50,000 in cash, fixed deposit certificates of Rs 2 lakh each.

The West Bengal government gave a financial package to 10 Maoists who had surrendered in West Midnapore last year at a programme in the district on Wednesday.

The surrender package, said SP Bharati Ghosh, includes Rs 50,000 in cash, fixed deposit certificates of Rs 2 lakh each. It is a part of their rehabilitation package. “A monthly allowance of Rs 4,000 will be given to them till they get a job in home guard,” she said.
