Okhla MLA kin dies of dengue

The national capital has reported 52 cases of dengue in the last one week, taking the number to 171 cases this year.

Okhla MLA Amanatullah Khan’s sister-in-law Mazish (38) succumbed to suspected dengue at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital Friday. She had been admitted to the hospital Thursday after being diagnosed with low platelet count. She died around 6.30 am.

“We admitted her to the hospital after we found out through laboratory reports that the platelet count was around 25,000. Four units of platelets were given to her from yesterday. However, the platelet count reduced to around 11,000. In the morning, she succumbed to dengue,” said the AAP MLA. Mazish’s 11-year old daughter Nabiha too has been admitted to the hospital with low platelet count. The national capital has reported 52 cases of dengue in the last one week, taking the number to 171 cases this year.
