A day after Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad’s (ABVP’s) JNU unit vice-president Jatin Goraya announced his resignation from the student organisation, the ABVP claimed he had resigned “seven months ago”.
In a statement, ABVP’s JNU unit president Alok Singh said, “…In the aftermath of the February 9 anti-national event, two such resignations came to light under the pressure of Leftist professors, to deviate the whole issue.
This time also, to deviate public attention from the recent rape perpetrated by a top Communist leader, a section of media has taken up this issue in a prejudiced and one-sided manner,” he said. Goraya could not be contacted.
