Pleading guilty in the theft case, Mohammed Yusuf had laid out details of suspected drug peddlers, the time of operations, costs and the mode of sale in the area.

Taking note of the revelations made by Yusuf, the court had noted, “It has been brought to the notice… that there are several afflicted areas in the area of Daryaganj and Jama Masjid where drug abuse is prevalent. It is trite that rampant drug abuse is resulting in decay of our society. Addiction to drugs is causing the addicts to commit crimes. This menace needs to be curbed by all means, including awareness programmes.”
