On the heels of the petrol price hike,the rates of compressed natural gas (CNG) and piped natural gas (PNG) have been raised to Rs 29 per kg and Rs 18.95 per standard cubic metre (scm) respectively in the Capital.
In the case of cooking gas,the applicable rate in Delhi would be Rs 26 per scm for consumption of over 90 scm in a period of four months.
Indraprastha Gas Ltd (IGL) raised the price of CNG sold to automobiles by Rs 1.25 per kg to Rs 29 per kg,or 4.5 per cent,with effect from midnight on Saturday,a company press statement said here. However,the CNG price in neighbouring Noida,Greater Noida and Ghaziabad,which have higher local sales tax rates,will be hiked by Rs 1.50 per kg to Rs 32.50 per kg.
Last month,petrol prices in the Capital were raised by Rs 2.94-2.96 per litre in sync with the rise in global oil rates.
On cooking gas,the company said,The new consumer price of piped natural gas to households in Delhi is also being revised from Rs 16.85 per standard cubic metres to Rs 18.95 per scm up to consumption of 90 scm in four months with effect from today.
It translates to a nearly 12.5 per cent hike.
Due to differential tax structure in Uttar Pradesh,the applicable price of domestic PNG to households in Noida,Greater Noida and Ghaziabad would be Rs 20.42 per scm,up to consumption of 90 scm in four months,which has been increased from the existing Rs 18.32 per scm.
