City briefs : Day temperature crosses 40 degrees

An average maximum temperature of 40.6 degrees Celsius,two degrees above normal,was recorded in Delhi on Tuesday.

Day temperature crosses 40 degrees

New Delhi:An average maximum temperature of 40.6 degrees Celsius,two degrees above normal,was recorded in Delhi on Tuesday. Summer temperatures crossed the 40-degree mark for the first time this year. The minimum was recorded at 27.2 degrees Celsius,which is also two degrees above normal at this time of the year,the Met office said.

Lucknow:In order to settle pending issues with the state government and ensure early inauguration of 165-km long Yamuna Expressway,senior officers of Jaypee Group led by Chief Executive Officer of Jaypee Infratech Ltd,Manoj Gaur,met senior officials of UP government on Tuesday. With photographs of the completed expressway taken every 10 km,Jaypee officials told Industrial Development Commissioner of UP that the project was ready for inauguration. Government officials told them that the project would progress only after detailed inspection by Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority.
