The Aam Aadmi Party on Monday suspended Bijwasan MLA Col Devendra Sehrawat from primary membership, days after he alleged that the Punjab state unit was sexually exploiting women tickets aspirants. AAP leaders Sanjay Singh and Durgesh Pathak had filed a defamation suit against Sehrawat following the allegations.

Meanwhile, Sehrawat has dared the party leaders to expel him, saying, “If you have the courage, severe the ties and expel. With 67 MLAs you could not perform. You don’t have it in you- So Get out of the Way.”

Sehrawat had written to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, allegedly saying that the senior party leaders were indulging in sexual exploitation of women aspirants for tickets from various constituencies in Punjab.

Sehrawat also wrote another letter to Kejriwal, saying he will be held “responsible” if 21 party MLAs appointed as Parliamentary Secretaries lose their Assembly membership in the wake of a Delhi High Court order.

The fresh salvo from Sehrawat came as the party is currently grappling with sleaze and misconduct charges against its leaders. Sehrawat alleged that Kejriwal, despite being “well aware” of Supreme Court order whereby appointments of Sonia Gandhi and Jaya Bachchan were held illegal, appointed them as Parliamentary Secretaries on the “advice” of “advisors around him like Ashish Talwar” who have “no knowledge” of such things.
