Two dead in separate road accidents in Jalandhar

The Daresi police registered FIR against the truck driver identified as Brajesh Kumar of Chanderlok Colony of Rahon road.

A 26-year old woman from Jalandhar died in a road mishap after a speeding truck hit a motorbike near Samrala Chowk Thursday late.

The Daresi police registered FIR against the truck driver identified as Brajesh Kumar of Chanderlok Colony of Rahon road. The deceased has been identified as Karamveer Kaur of Jalandhar. She was employed with HDFC bank, Talhan in Jalandhar.

The case has been registered on the statement of Pardeep Singh of Atal Nagar of Rahon road, who is admitted to Christian Medical College and Hospital (CMCH).Pardeep Singh said they were going towards Samrala Chowk when a truck hit their bike. People rushed both of them to CMCH but Karamvir died on the way. In a separate incident, a truck mowed down a motorcyclist near Sahnewal Chowk. The deceased has been identified as Charanjit Singh (45) of Sahnewal. The police arrested the truck driver Jagjit Singh of Village Gujjarwal, who later received bail. In his complaint Mangat Ram of Khanna said that his relative Jagjit Singh was injured by the accused.
