A day after AAP removed Sucha Singh Chhotepur from the post of its Punjab convenor after allegations of corruption against him, the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has invited him to join their party. BSP state president Avtar Singh Karimpuri said it was not AAP but BSP that was the party of ‘Aam Aadmi (common man)’. He said AAP was a party of “khas log” (elite people).
“AAP cannot be a party of the people of Punjab as they are only power-hungry people who have been using the Sikh religion for political purposes,” he said. Karimpuri asked Chhotepur that he must join them if he wants to serve the poor and the common man in the state,” he added. “Arvind Kejriwal has been using the people in his bid for power here but has no attachment tothe state,” said he.
