Muhawa school bus tragedy: Amarinder Singh announces compensation

Captain Amarinder Singh announced a memorial for the victims in their village and also announced a reward for two MGNREGA workers and student who helped in the rescue efforts.

Punjab Congress chief Capt Amarinder Singh Monday announced Rs 1 lakh compensation to the kin of each of the seven children who died in a of the school bus accident near Muhawa village last week.

Captain Amarinder Singh announced a memorial for the victims in their village and also announced a reward for two MGNREGA workers and student who helped in the rescue efforts.

The former Chief Minister also sought an FIR against the school principal.

“The onus lies school principal who allowed these buses to be run”, he said, while adding the local district transport officer should also be held accountable for allowing such condemned buses on the roads.
