Congress has always worked to promote secularism: Pawan Kumar Bansal

The former Union minister said that party has done a lot for the minority community

Former union Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal Wednesday said that the Congress had done a lot for the welfare of the country’s minority community. Bansal was speaking at a meeting of the Minority Cell of the Congress held at the Congress Bhavan in Sector 35, Chandigarh.

Bansal, while addressing the gathering, said that the minorities has been ignored under the rule of the BJP and reminded them that the Congress always worked to safeguard and promote secularism. Bansal said that the Congress gave minority their rights and brought many path-breaking Acts to provide them reservation so that they could become economically strong.

Meanwhile, Pardeep Chhabra, president of Chandigarh Congress, also said that the it was the policies of the Congress which had changed the lives of minorities in the country.
