The State Legal Services Authority (SLSA), UT, held a workshop in association with University Institute of Legal Studies, Panjab University, on the issues pertaining to children- friendly legal services with specific impetus to Juvenile Justice Act, 2015, at the Chandigarh Judicial Academy in Sector43 on Saturday. Justice Surya Kant, Punjab and Haryana High Court judge and executive chairman of SLSA was the chief guest.
Kant called upon all the stakeholders to leave no stone unturned for effective implementation of the NALSA scheme i.e. NALSA (Child Friendly Legal Services to Children and their Protection) Scheme 2015. In reference to the Supreme Court Judgment, Kant said children are among the most vulnerable sections in the society and represent almost 1/3rd of the world’s population.
