Noted Karnataka-based journalist and writer Ravi Belagere died in Bengaluru after suffering a heart attack early on Friday.

The 62-year-old Editor-in-Chief of ‘Hai Bangalore’, who redefined Kannada tabloid journalism, was in his office when he suffered the attack and was rushed to a private hospital.

Taking to Twitter, Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa recalled Belagere’s works as a journalist and writer. “I pray to the almighty to give courage to his family and fans to bear the loss,” he posted on the micro-blogging site.
